KOOTENAY BASED DESIGN FOR: Grow Arrow Lakes for the Nakusp and Area Development Board

OBJECTIVE: Develop a brand to strengthen and promote Arrow Lake’s rich agricultural heritage and emerging food businesses. Create a regional map showcasing local food producers and retailers. Build excitement around the brand for the local agriculture community and visitors.

RESULTS: Delivered a vibrant, eye-catching brand identity along with a printed guide for food enthusiasts. Designed mushroom-themed t-shirts celebrating Nakusp’s unique mushroom culture, adding a fun, memorable element to the brand. See for yourself at https://nadb.ca/growarrowlakes/.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMANT FOR: Our Trust Our Future (OTOF) Symposiums for Columbia Basin Trust

OBJECTIVE: Provide branded, cohesive design collateral for public engagement sessions that utilizes the existing Columbia Basin Trust brand and the complementary OTOF elements. Include signage, vouchers and unique giveaways to support navigation and enhance the event experience.

RESULTS: Successfully designed comprehensive materials, including agendas, wayfinding signs and interactive elements like photo and video booths and community engagement points. Built a unique branded experience that lived within multiple public spaces and existing marketplaces.

KOOTENAY COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT FOR: Basin Food Summit & Buyer Expo for Columbia Basin Trust

OBJECTIVE: Create an engaging, branded space for attendees that offers multiple points of interaction throughout the summit. Design elements included a photo booth, signage, pop up banners, information points, and themed decor to make the event memorable and shareable.

 RESULTS: Developed cohesive, visually engaging installations, successfully enhancing attendee experience and reinforcing event branding. All collateral was designed and fabricated by DESIGN FARM.

KOOTENAY COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT FOR: Threads of Our Food Shed at the Basin Food Summit & Buyer Expo - 2019

OBJECTIVE: Develop a non-digital, interactive installation to gather and display community perspectives on food systems in real-time.

RESULTS: Designed and fabricated a unique, hands-on experience where participants used coloured threads to represent their roles in the food shed, creating a visible “web” of connections. This installation fostered community reflection and engagement, achieving a high participation rate.

KOOTENAY BASED DESIGN FOR: Slocan Valley Branding/Campaigns for the Slocan Valley Economic Development Partnership & Community Futures Central Kootenay

OBJECTIVE: Develop a versatile brand identity for Slocan Valley that supports various campaigns and project iterations over time.

RESULTS: Created a flexible brand that expanded to include social media campaigns, print ads, posters, and merchandise, establishing a strong, adaptable presence for Slocan Valley’s ongoing and seasonal initiatives.

Expanded branding initiatives and campaigns include: Shop Slocan Valley, Slocan Valley Grown, Slocan Valley Cheer, Make Music Here & Support Slocan Valley.

KOOTENAY BASED DESIGN FOR: Live. Love. Winlaw for the West Kootenay Permaculture Coop & Community Futures Central Kootenay

OBJECTIVE: Engage the rural community of Winlaw to gather insights on liveability, showcasing local needs and community values. Include postcards, online surveys, and interactive installations for public commentary at key locations.

RESULTS: Designed a community map and vibrant branding that celebrated Winlaw’s unique arts scene and diversity. The project successfully fostered community pride and provided valuable insights for future development.
