ENGAGING COMMUNITY
I am in my third year as the Chair of the West Kootenay Permaculture Co-Op and my second year sitting on the Central Kootenay Food Policy Council.
I am deeply interested in supporting initiatives that focus on growing community resiliency, building local economy, projects with a permaculture interest, and those that connect eaters to real food and the people who grow it.
I bring a visionary approach to all projects. As an experienced Graphic and Permaculture designer, I have the skills to build a beautiful event while delivering creative marketing messages while cultivating thoughtful experiences that bring together community. I have facilitated a number of large public events, drawing on World Café , Open Space techniques, as well as Strategic Doing.
I have designed, produced and marketed numerous community development projects in the Kootenay’s; Farm Food Fork: an annual local food forum, PessFest a celebration of falling fruit which offers a commercial volume community fruit pressing event & The Kootenay Herb Conference. Most recently I worked for The Columbia Basin Trust to develop, brand and execute the first annual Basin Food & Buyers Expo.
Currently I am spearheading the development of The Kootenay Food Mobile Kitchen Classroom. An initiative of the West Kootenay Permaculture Co-op that allow us to collaborate more fully and deeply with our greater community, good food allies, regional schools, and local businesses. We are invested in sharing culinary & traditional food skills, while exploring seasonal excess food being processed into a potentially viable social enterprise, all the while bringing together community to celebrate our Kootenay abundance.
